I am ready to do some final assembly on the rear end and right now the leaf spring pads are just held in place with the U bolts. The third member is not in but can't I just set the angle off of the machined face where the third member bolts up? What should the angle be? Thanks

Not quite as simple as just setting it to a certain angle. Need to put a straight edge from the center of the trans tailshaft to the center of the pinion, then make the pinion nose about 5 degrees down from this angle. Don't want the pinion pointing straight at the trans, as under acceleration it will go up. Too far down and you'll get vibration in the drivetrain.
