Went to Beech Bend to the NHRA/Holley Hot Rod Reunion on friday there was some rain, but got to see lots of great race cars and hot rods.Got to see many race and street gassers, several were 5,6&7 Chevies.A trip thru the sale/swap meet yielded a Accel dual point for my 55 that I had been looking for. Beech Bend will host the Kentucky Motorsports Hall of Fame Nostalgia Nationals on July 30th,2011. Should be a fun time hope to have my 55 done by then and take it to the get together.Hope some of the gassers on this site will be there.

How about Back to The 50's ?? 11,700 streetrods and a few racers. 3 days of nothing but car stuff. Then at night cruising all over the Twin Cities. Annual insanity...haha. I only made 12 laps this year of the fairgrounds. I spent too much time talking to old friends and cruise people. It rained Sat so the end of the day was pretty wet. The hard core stayed and toughed it out or like me got in the car and drove around.

I saw at least 15 Willys. I know of 4 others that I missed. All but one of the 15 were owner built. One guy and his wife just travel the country. They have over 150,000 miles on their beloved plastic 41 Willys. I felt like the new kid on the block as most have driven at least as much as I do.

There were a number of street gassers. None the same....no cookie cutter cars. All were well done.

Anybody else attend???

In Arizona; On April 9th Tucson Dragway had the yearly Tucson Dragway Reunion car show, drag racing lots of 50's & 60's cars including ADRA fuel altereds and jet cars. Only saw 1 Willys in the show area, had a photo on the window of when it was used for drag racing. Lots of 55, 56 & 57 Chevys, some pre-63 corvettes and lots of other cars and some trucks.
