I have pictures in my '63 Falcon build of my rocker type setup. I did cut my fender drops off and welded them to the body also, but it wasn't really necessary to do that. My links on the rockers were 3" hole centers, so when they rocked over it moved the whole steel clip forward 6" before I tilted it. Having the pivot point for the link higher than the stop when it rocks over also dropped the front a good inch or more before I opened it, which helps make it easier to open also.
The cable restraints in this picture were from a Ranger pickup I found in the wrecking yard. I made clamps that I slid up/down the structural tube supports to adjust where the frontend stops when opening it up.
