ok, been awhile--all kinds of "EBESBM" stuff going on (Every Body Elses [email protected] But Mine...)
so hopefully ill be able to get some work done. got a buncha amazon gift cards for xmas
so ordered 2 cooper 275/60/15s, under specs it says 28"tall x 10.9"wide so it should look
nice and FAT on the new 15x10 slots i found a couple months back while still being tall enough
to look 'right' on a gasser. thanks to gift card my outta pocket was $18. yeah !!!

gotta try and hang front of new 69" ladders, then start stripping off stock front end and prepping
for the leafs/straight axle (speedway 53", got it in closet. ) now if only my #$%^@&!!!!!!!! back
will cooperate and NOT go out anytime soon.........

been awhile, site locked me out plus pandemic plus bangshift plus life in general.....
hung the 12 bolt & ladders, getting ready to strip stock fron suspension off so
i can start the speedway straight axle front end install. yay!

also sold the wifes silver 79 vette and picked her up a 48 chevy 2dr coup, it was
already rewired bumper to bumper with a painless wiring system, 454, th400,
a mustang 2 front end, 9"rear ford with 4 bar, clean title no taxes. $5k !!!

we litteraly put 5 gallons gas, new battery, new ebrock 750, 8 plugs and
relashed valves and she fired and ran on the 1st try.... this one will also be
getting the straight axle treatment, i just got 2 15x4 ansens for $100 and
im looking for a front axle now...... primer with weld wheels is hers, greens
what we are shooting for.

also finally cut rear fenders, put a 31x10.50 truck tire on the 10" rear slots, and brother bobby
made me those flat center block off plated for $14 in materials. (metalremnents.com, we bought
2 aluminum discs 1/8 thick 7" diameter for $7 each....) hes a retired machinist and it was mind
bending to see him figure out the layout for where the holes were drilled. ( if i remember right, it
was 7" total radius on plate, minus 4.75" bolt pattern, so 2-1/8 inches-- but half that, somethin
bout radius vs diameter so 1-1/16 from outer edge, mark. thats where the first hole goes. then
measure 72 degrees because 360 degrees total like every circle no mater the size, divided by
5 lugs = 72 degrees. mark theres the next hole. and 72 degrees more fore 3rd hole, 72 degrees
again for 4th hole, etc etc....)

he made them at his house without the rim to check, i drove home 15 miles and they were PERFECT
bolt ons..... thanks bobby. youre amazing.

I'm partial to the smaller plates that just cover the center hole myself.
yeah i like those too, especially on torq thrusts or
similar. but on this particular application i wanted to try
something different, and it was a trip learning how.

are you gonna be selling the rear rims off the car? If so, price and specs?

the stock ones? you can have em free, though shipping will be
astronomical outta hawaii... if you meant the 10" slots, then no
i wasnt looking to sell those as i spent years looking for them.

if you meant the rear welds on the wifes 48, then yes those
eventually will go up for sale but as a whole set of 4. again,
shipping would be REALLY bad price wise.....

Damn, I probably should have looked where you are before I said anything. I keep talking myself into and out of weld rims for my car.

the VISION sport lite wheels are pretty much dead ringers for welds,
and less than half the cost although they are 1 piece cast i bellieve
but so are ansens... they got em in black or polished (id definately
stay polished) at summit and i think in the continuous 48 they ship
free truck freight if its over $99... you gotta double check with them though.

if these wheels didnt come on the car i woulda bought something else,
welds are WAY to expensive for my taste. check out the sportlites here--
(hope im not breaking any rules by posting this) you gotta dig through the
size, bolt pattern, backspace etc listings, but its not that bad.
