That's a nice item! I've been thinking about switching my old Sun tach from my Camaro to the Austin, and putting the Autometer tach from the Austin in the Camaro. The Autometer is a very nice tach, but just looks weird in the Austin.

That's sweet! I have a couple tachs that use new cups. And the dash bracket is hard to find also. Every tach I've ever found only had the column bracket. I'm running a dash mounted Moroso cable drive tach in my beater 55, so won't need one for that. :)

I also have a "newer" looking 5" tach in the Opel. Nice tach... works GREAT.... BUT......

This Winter I plan to re-do the dash with engine turned stainless steel & add old school Sun gauges (blue-line) along with the "right-look" SUN SUPER TACH for this old-time ex-drag car.....

I think that tach would look great in my Gasser. I still need to add a tach light somewhere though so I never miss a shift point. Specially with the manual trans. But I can mount that up under the new longer dash overhang and it might not even be noticable. I'll be looking at all different tachs/gauges when the time comes to buid the final dash dash. Mark L

I have the same tach, been some what looking for the old Football 5,000 G tach that uses the transmitter, or the second Gen 8,000 grand tack also uses transmitter. Sinse everybodys going nostalgia they`re hard to come by or they`re to exspensive and not sure if they work. Might have to go with a repop...http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SUN-...Accessories&hash=item2a143b8002#ht_500wt_1174

Just ran across another article on the transmitters, just replace the old style batteries with AA flash light batteries, all is well or one guy just bought a 12 volt dc power inverter controller ( drop the voltage down ) hard wired it into the box. Now will they work with HEI.....?
