What are pro's and con's of using the stock frame (minus suspension and crossmember of course) vs a frame stub. I just saw a really nice looking 51 using the stock frame, very professional looking job. Until now I didn't think it would look or work very good, but seems like it would be quite a bit easier.

They're a pretty solid frame, and whether it might need stubbing depends on looks really. If you like the look of smooth straight frame rails, then stubbing it will be best. It's also a bit easier to mount the brackets for a straight axle if it's new frame rails.
A larger issue on the early 50's Fords is the X member on this frame. It usually requires reworking at the center of the X, so trans and driveline have proper clearance. Some guys remove it, and replace that with a tubular X member. Others remove the center, and rebuild that area only.
