Mark, your 63 is coming out great! You do some pretty nice work yourself. For me it's a vision. If it doesn't have that right look, I'll change it till it does. The car is going through some big changes right now. I have installed a 4" setback fire wall, putting in an Ididit column, and doing some interior work. While the motor is out I am plating the frame at the motor mounts to one day accept the horse power and torque of a 572. It has a 427 that runs pretty darn good for now. Should be back on the road by the summer.

That firewall looks great!! Nice work. I'll be doing something similar to that on my 55, since a PO beat my firewall in for a BB years ago! Damn kids...... LOL!

I'm totally in your corner. I have a certain vision and I don't want to compromise unless it has to be. That's why I continue to change things as I go. It will cost more time and money in the long run, but like a sculptor, the statue is in the stone, it just has to be chiseled out. My vision is in front of me. I just have to bring it out. Your work is damn good. My engine and trans is sitting lower in the frame than I would like. I cut out the firewall and just slid it back and welded it in. The '60s Catalinas used what was called the slim Jim trans. It was narrow and they made the trans tunnel narrow also. This is forcing the TH400 trans down too far. I still want to build a 4L80 and that is even larger than the th400. So I have some tunnel replacing to do. That will be my first work once I start again. Guess it's time to get into the planning stage. Mark L
