Over 30 years ago the Des Moines Register newspaper started something called Ragbrai. It stands for "Register's Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa". It is next week and this year it passes through our town. Expecting about 15,000 cyclists and support people to come through in about a 6 hour period. It'll be a nightmare.

We've got a bicycle nuts mentality here in Portland! Gradually bicycles have taken over the roads, and city officials continue to take away lanes of traffic to turn them into bike only lanes. It causes huge traffic jams, and angers the motorists who pay the road taxes for these streets. A lot of animosity between bicyclists and drivers, and continuing to grow with every inch of blacktop we lose to the bicycles, who pay nothing towards this space.

These cyclist are getting worse as time goes on. So many are Rude, Arrogant............feel free to ad to the list. Even when there isn't a bike lane they act as if they own the road. My town has been the starting point for Rag-Bra a few times and it does bring money into town for a couple days but aside from that I can do without the ACAs.
