It's been my dream to build one or own one for a long time. I found this car & it had been setting in a barn for almost 15 years. It will be a long term project.
I'm also looking at a Henry J that is supposed to be my dad's old drag car that I might buy with my brother & turn into a gasser! I have more WANTS than money!

Welcome aboard David. Looking forward to seeing more about your 'Bolt. I almost bought a semi finished '64 'lane with a nicely tubbed back half. I would have dropped my Pontiac motor into it but by the time I had a bite on the car I was selling, I could not find the guy again. Get some pics a rollin' and enjoy the site. Maybe we can talk you into building a gasser out of it???? Mark L

Here's a picture of my Dad's old Henry J race car that I just found this past weekend. I going to get it here soon & make it a Gasser! I'll upload the pictures of my Fairlane a little bit later.
Can anybody on here help me with parts for the Henry J?

Might get some help once you know what parts you're looking for. I'd assume body parts, as the rest wont be Henry J on a gasser.
That's Right! I'm going to need some help from you guys on building it because I've never been around a gasser before!

Welcome!!!!

How do you go about finding your Dad's Henry J????
It's located within a few miles from where my Dad lives. We were told it might be there because a friend of mine owned it at one time & sold it to this guy. My brother went up there Saturday & confirmed with the owner of the salvage yard where it came from & that this was it!

Knowing others on this thread like I do I am SURE many feel like me about this thread .... it is "SO awesome" you found your Dad's drag car. It's like the story of so many ex-drag cars that literally "disappeared" over the years. So many of us have said "wish we could have a (certain) car BACK!!!" Well this one did NOT TOTALLY disappear. Almost!!!!

Would love to hear more about the car's history .... how it was first built....raced...and how it was passed on & on until it came to rest in that junkyard for so many years.

Good luck with everything.

Look up Bad Banana on U-tube. It's a 55 Gasser that was a guys fathers car, and he brought it back to life. The best thing is his father is still alive to enjoy it. I have to keep a tear back when I see that Chevy commercial where they find their fathers '65 SS Impala. I hope that is not just acting on the fathers part, you can really see the emotion in him. If not then that guy's a good actor. Mark L
