I just realised I haven't done a proper introduction on this site, just asked a question as any fng without intro. Well here it goes; I'm on the verge of beeing an old fart, turned 54 the other day. I live in the southernmost part of Sweden and have a wife and a daughter. Dragracing has been a very important part of my life and we formed a team back in 87 racing in the bracketclasses, even with some success. Most memorable was when the drive dropped a rather heavy trophy on the beautiful pricegiving babe's foot so she screamed out loud.. Moving up the ranks kinda quick we got hold on a swedish built Garlits copy streamliner and started racing in comp 1989, first year with a ton of problem but regrouped and got better stuff in 1990, think we finished fifth in the swedish series. The owners decided to sell so I joined the swedish champ comp team in a stunning Altered and we finished second that year. The owner wasn't happy in comp so he formed a new team and bought a Haas built Olds prostocker, and we immediatedly felt at home. In the licence run we ended up as second qualifier and it was fantastic. We contiued racing until I stepped down and quit in 2007. We got a numerous of titles, swedish champs, nordic champs and two time european champs. Most memorable was when we became the first european team to run in the sixes. Good old times. Well when I realised I had tons of free time on my hands I, or my wife bought a Mercury Marauder which is undergoing restoration right now. It has a powerful 390 with sixpack and ironcast headers, comp cam and modified heads. Blaze the tires any time.
I on the other hand bought an ex 60's gasser, a 55 chevy wagon used to have a blown 427 in it, now contains a semistock 350 with Edelbrock rpm and headers. I'm guessing it has a stock cam as it idles smoothly. Wanting a tunnelram through the hood but it might be a bit too much as I don't intend to have it for racing only. I want to be able to hook up my old caravan and take my family for a holiday cruise when I feel for it.
Any way, I'm glad to found this site and here's a few pics from the cars.
