Hi Guys-
I really dig vintage Gassers / Junior Stocker drag cars especially tri-five Chevys. Hoping this is a great site for pics and sharing info.
I have recently purchased a '56 Chevy 150. Still a lot of things to work out as car sat for years. Already fixed a ton of wiring issues, brakes, gas tank, etc. Car is a southern pretty solid car, but has a what i'd call a 10' footer paint and body work job.
My car came with a crate 350 with L98 aluminum heads, and 6A MSD ignition and distributor. I ditched the 'run of the mill' standard edelbrock performer intake and holley in favor of a complete vintage '57 Corvette dual quads set up. I also ditched the Chrome alternator in favor of a vintage stock generator set-up. Also scored a nice set vintage of Cal Custom ribbed valve covers. I am really into vintage speed stuff.
Trans is a '69 M-20 muncie from a GTO. I had a 4:11 posi crammed into the stock '56 pig.
I installed cragars and I am eventually going for probably 7" pie crust cheater slicks and stock bias ply 6.70.15 fronts.
Best wishes from the Detroit area.
Bob
