I finally got the Studebaker to the track this past weekend . 1/8 mile track and we made 3 passes. It went 8.11 with a 1.71 60ft , 8.06 with a 1.69 and a 8.03 with a 1.69. @ 84 mph. That was as driven on the street , running Hoosier dirt track tires. It has a trans brake but those times were foot braking it. Sorry no photos as I was by myself. The rear suspension worked great ! Plus it has been 35 years since I sat at a starting line.

Hit the throttle when the last yellow lights up, and you'll cut down those reaction times by a bunch. Might on rare occasion red light, but mostly it will just get your times down in the .010 or so times.

Nice looking truck! Your times sound pretty good. I usually have time for a sammich and a soda at the starting line before I leave.:ROFLMAO: It gets better, but you know that. Main thing is have a bunch of fun doing it.

When I made my first return trip to the drags after over 30 years away, my reaction times were in the .5 to .8 sec. times! Then a friend gave me the same advice to hit the pedal on the last yellow, and instantly my reaction times improved a lot.

Very cool. Impressive. My local temp track is a no prep skating rink. Not knocking it but 60 ft is terrible for my Firestone Cheater slicks.

My local track is prepped, but I never run at it due to their restrictive rules. The track I run at is not prepped, and being near Mt. St. Helens it can often have a thin powdering of ash dust, which can really make things dicey when you hit that first shift!

Thats sweet!. Love the tilt front. 👌👌
Thanks,
I am in the process of installing the hood. It will be on the factory hinges and loose the front end tilting. I could have bolted the hood to the front fenders but it would take two people to tilt the front. Everything on here can be serviced by one person and a engine picker, from removing the bed, the front end and now the hood. The hood will be secured with hood pins. Plus next trip to the track I plan on removing the hood, outer fenders and the front bumper ! that gives it a whole new look plus looses some weight.

Oh yeah didnt even notice it didnt have a hood lol. Making the front clip pop apart will be nice and more practical since you mention it would be hard to tilt with one person. 👍
