I vote for the open edge out....with some lightening holes... and lots of rounding of corners
Nice job. Do you think maybe it should be rubber or neoprene mount bushed so you get less vibration. Speedway sells a cheap hurst mount bushing kit that can work there but it needs a flat plate on top of the square tube. bolt goes thru. Just a thought.I got my motor mounts sorted out today, washed the steering box up so I can take it apart. All in All a productive day.
We are mounting it all solid, motor, cab. It is going to ba a limited use vehicle. Just something to shred the tires. All this is just in the mock up stage right now. We got the motor squared up where it needs to be but I can't finish the trans mount until I get the rear axle situated. And for that to happen it will require moving the springs to the inside of the frame rails and then I will have to pull the rearend apart so we can mount some new perches on it. Next on the list is freshen up the steering box and get the steering hooked up.Nice job. Do you think maybe it should be rubber or neoprene mount bushed so you get less vibration. Yes, you would not mount the trans solid. Usually you would end up with a broken case.I was just thinking about my past experience. I mounted my small block solid and the auto trans solid mount also and developed trans tail shaft leaks that came from the solid mount. I ended up going neoprene on the trans tail.
