It's going to be a crazy garage sale when she has it Dave! Some guy came over and bought all but one 4 speed (five of them) plus some Hurst shifters, and she took $1100 for the works. I about cried when she told us.
She says she's posting it on FB Marketplace, and Craigslist, and will let us know the date, as I'd like to drop by to see how it's going to go. I really think her and her 43 yr. old son just want it all gone. She said they plan to remodel the 4 car garage into an apartment for her, and the son is going to move into the home. The son should live in the garage in my opinion and let his 81 yr. old mom stay in her home!
Sale will be Sat. Sept. 10th. It will be interesting to see how it goes, but I'm not staying to the end to find out!

That is a crying shame. A good 4speed is going for 1000 alone around here. He got 5 for that price. Sad but they need it gone so that’s the way it goes.

Not sure these were $1000 4 speeds. At least not around here anyway. GM 4 speeds go around half that price, so he still got a screaming deal. I had them marked at $400 ea. just to sell quick.

Really a sad weekend here.
I got up Friday morning to hear a motor running in front of the house at 6:00 a.m. I looked out the curtains and saw a big motor home with outside lights parked right at my driveway! Weird. Grabbed the dog to take her out and casually investigate this thing, and when I stepped on the porch I saw cops and cop cars everywhere! There was crime tape closing off our entire 2 block street, and a patrol car blocking each end.
As I sat the dog down I heard a voice ask, "Do you need to go?" I thought it was my neighbor, so I jokingly said, "No, just the dog needs to, not me." Then I turned to see a cop standing there, and asked what was going on? He told me someone was shot and killed across the street at 2:00 a.m. and did I hear anything? Of course that's 4 hrs. after I hit the sack, so I didn't hear a thing. I asked which house, and he pointed at our neighbor Chris, whose a single 38 yr. old who lives alone there. I asked if he was OK, but the cop said he couldn't tell me anything.
So I went inside and turned on the morning news just in time to see video of our neighbor being lead to a car in handcuffs! I figured maybe it was standard procedure for anyone involved whether they were guilty of anything or not? So I waited an hour and called our daughter, who works at the County DA's office and asked her to check. She discovered nothing other than what we already knew.
Then Saturday two homicide detectives came over to interview all the neighbors and we asked what they knew? All they could tell us is Chris was charged with 2nd degree murder, and unlawful use of a firearm, which everyone gets added on if they broke the law using a firearm. But they did say, "Sometimes good people make bad decisions, and then they have to live with that the rest of their life."
Neighbor next to Chris said he heard shouting at the time between two people, and then gunshots. Detectives said Chris called 911 himself, and stayed there waiting for police to arrive. So appears we've lost a guy I always thought was a good neighbor, and never dreamed could do something like this. It feels almost like they told us he died. Pretty sad.

That is sad. Two nights ago, I was lying in bed around 11 reading a book and I heard what I thought were fireworks since Dallas just scored in the playoff game. Then my entire bedroom filled with red and blue lights as a battalion of cop cars descended on a house 3 down from mine. That house has been nothing but troubling ever since I moved in. I guess they sell drugs out of there and the old timer that owns the house is kinda being held hostage by either his kids or someone else staying there. I have confronted the kids a couple of times to move along instead of standing in my driveway for no apparent reason. Turns out the old timer flipped his lid and shot 7-8 bullets in the air, so the cops came and talked him out of the house. scary times....

My oldest daughter works for the local DA's office, so she's kept us abreast of what's going on so far. But she's leaving to take another job, so wont get any info in the future now. Appears the victim was a friend, and they were drinking, and arguing. No details beyond that, but doesn't look good.

It began to snow here this morning just before lunch, but the temp was 36 degrees, and it didn't stick. Then 30 minutes later the temps dropped and it started sticking big time! A heavy flake, wet snow that built up quickly, and instantly it was all white! It hasn't stopped the last 6 hours, and looks like no sign of stopping today. Supposed to be down in the teens tonight, so even if it stops it's sticking around for awhile!
Poor little dog can't walk well, and the snow only makes things worse. I had to dig her a hole in the snow so she had a place to go!

We woke up this morning and sometime during the night the snow stopped. We have maybe a foot of snow, with drifts twice that deep where the wind blew it.

Mike, the forecast is for maybe a little more snow, but roads should be fine on I-5 by then. Right now I-5 is jammed up and not moving much.

We finally got outside today for more than to just dig a spot in the snow so the doggy could find ground to do her thing! Fired up my old Suburban and drove to the gas station to fill it up. Had a little issue getting away from the curb at first, so had to backup and get a run at the drift in front of it to get going. Our street is still packed snow that's turned to ice, but once on the main drag there's paths worn through to pavement and everyone is moving OK.
Got home from gassing the Burb up, and decided this was a nice sunny day, even at 28 degrees, so I fired up the Austin and the '39 Chev and let both get warmed up. They needed it after sitting since last October, but they're on trickle chargers so they both fired right off. It was nice to hear them, and come back in the house smelling like exhaust for a change! My favorite cologne!

Got up yesterday morning to head to our collector gun show and we got another inch of snow overnight. Later in the afternoon it really opened up, and thought we might get hit hard again, but it lasted about 2 min. and no more.
