I thought I'd start a new thread on music. Throw your stuff on here too. What music or bands do you like/listen to.
I heard these guys on the Today show this morning. I love the band, Drop Kick Murphys.

I usually just listen to radio, a hard rock oldies station ( I think of it as Bar Band music) or a country station. A couple of weeks ago, when I was going to saw out my brake pedal arm, I put in a Patsy Cline CD. The saw is pretty noisy but when I took a break it sounded nice.

Just found my best new band. But I think I need to rewrite this song though, don't you? It just carries, um, no meaning to me.

Good Thread Mark.

As I mentioned many times here I am a BIG "Doo ***" fan..... the songs we used to cruise to "back in the day".

Just heard two of my favorite "oldies" groups will be coming to Pittsburgh in April.

The "Jesters" and the "Paragons".

Way back when (1960 ? ) .... both groups put together an album called "The Jesters vs the Paragons". Doo *** at its BEST !!!!!

Enjoy:

On the "left coast" Doo *** - "those oldies BUT goodies" is the music of choice of "old time hot rodders" ....... Rock 'n Roll will stand !!!!!

John, the early 60's songs were too early for me. I started around '67 on up. I'm an old fart but I always liked the heavier rock and roll stuff. I loved the Beatles but when the came out with Revolution, and the distorted guitar sound, that was my world. I'm still into the heavy hard hitting stuff. You've probably noticed in my selections of songs that I rewrite. I rewrite those because they get my musical blood moving. I do however appreciate and listen to the early songs so please do not take my comments as disapproval, I just prefer later music. They don't hit me as hard as the newer songs. I can even get deep into Metal as long as it's musical and not just some idiot screaming the words.
In 7th grade my son was already well into his music and his guitar. He sat down and taught himself Metalicas Enter the Sandman. He then played at a middle school talent contest and blew the kids away. He played several talent contests thru his high school years and we have some of them taped but they are on old style tapes. I'll have to see if he has any vids I can post.
He played with a couple of bands down here. Nope no vids, darn.

Hey how about this song??

Vall, those are some of my favorites too. I get carried away listening to them but I did cop them down on a word document so I can possible rewrite them later. Keep the good stuff comin' guys. Now I wished I had the time to play with them instead of the car. But the car is first right now. MArk L

Love Jethro Tull too! Good stuff! I didn't get interested in music until around 12 yrs. old, early 60's, so I listen to 60's and 70's music mostly.

Well Guys, I guess I like old music, like The Temptations, The Tams, The Platters, and surf music like Jan and Dean, The BeachBoys, most of that music was around my birth 1964, but my Mom had a radio by my bed that played all night so thats why I guess I like that music. It was played to my subconscious.
