I have the Comet apart for rework before No Problem gasser race in Belle Rose, LA.
replacing cam and springs, mill head for 11 to 1 compression, straiten rat nest wirring under hood, rerun pass front brake line with better bracket, hot ceramic coat headers, make better mount for radiator, add clearance between front ladder bar mount and drive shaft. I'm mostly done just waiting for heads and headers to come back.

Might want to add a driveline loop while it's down, before heading to the track! Looks like that crossmember would be a likely candidate to mount one on, and it might save your legs and floorboards if you break a U joint!

That's too far back for a loop. The front loop has to be within 6 inches of the front U-joint. Unless you were saying add a second for the rear?? Mark L

Judd I figured you had a loop somewhere running the times you run.
Riv, a 427 FE built and waiting for a body. That is cool. Like the old 409s, 421 Pontiacs and the 427 FE's. They all have that old time mystic to them. Find yourself a '64 falcon for that thing. I've been seeing a few down around here lately and they make a great looking street/strip machine. Mark L

Riv just send that FE down here I'll break it in for you! LOL. I have a freind with three 64 Comets one will be A/fx clone with cross ram 390 FE and one is getting a strait axle and a Bennet Racing 347, both are stick cars. Mark there are two solid 65 Caliente Comet 2 dr ht cars down here under $3,000

I got the heads back on yesterday and hope to have it running tomorrow less headers.
