    1966 IH Gasser

I'm building a Gasser out of a 1965 International pickup, why you might ask!
    When i turned 16 I bought a brand new 1967 A1000 IH pickup, I'll post a picture.
After I finished restoring a 1973 Corvette I started looking for the pickup, this is a 1965 but almost the same as my 1966.
Found this one in Fargo ND, 57,000 miles, one owner, last licensed in 1978.
Picture of my Vette and my original 1967.
Will start posting more progress next week.

Starting off with a nice clean body will sure make it much easier! And much cheaper! Plus it looks good enough to not have to do expensive paint work!

    My first

thought when I saw the photo was how much the color, at least in the photo, reminds me of the color of the first SWC 41 Willys. What a great color for a gasser.

Cool build for sure. Looks like you're off to a great start. The Vette looks great too. I just bought my wife a 78 vette for her birthday this year, she's almost ready for the road. Keep the pics coming.

    Thanks for the comments.
Don't want to mislead anyone, the photo of the good looking pick up is what i owned in 1967. Posting a picture now of what i picked up in North Dakota, it was around -12 F that day. Body in good shape, one owner, 51K miles, last licensed in 1978.
The pickup from ND is almost the same as my first one, same color which I plan to use, Bahama Blue Metallic. I had a 304 V8, replacing the 266 V8 with BB GM 572 cu.
I have totally disassembled everything, cut out front suspension and steering, replaced it with a straight axle, new Ford 9" rear end. Picture of frame as it sits today.
Cab and box out for sand/media blasting, I'm working on fuel tank placement, fuel lines and brake lines right now. More later

Continuing to make progress. Here are a few shots; Front axle that was welded into place, the IH steering box worked perfectly with the Speedway straight axle. I cut out the box floor as it had a few too many rust spots to fix. Cot the wheel tub to make room for the M&H tires. I'm real pleased with how the rear wheels look relative to the box. Still working on fuel tank and brake line placement.Click image for larger version.
