powerglide shift lock

Will local tracks,NHRA, IHRA,etc allow reverse lock on shifter such as old -fashioned barrel bolt gate lock? I am running powerglide and want to have option to alter shifters to fit my needs. This method was used years ago.

As long as you can't stick it in reverse, your good. I used to have an old shifter with a spring loaded deal that you had to pull to put it in reverse. Passed fine.
