    New guy from MO

Just joined tonight! Looking forward to learning new stuff here and seeing everyone’s builds! Building a 54 Ford Ranch wagon myself. I know it’s blasphemy but it is gonna have a big block Chevy in it. Hoping for a 4 speed to be gasser correct but may have to put it together with and automatic till I find an affordable Muncie for it.

Welcome to the forum! OMG! A Chevy in a Ford? Never heard of such a thing? My Austin is a SBC, and my Falcon a BBC. Gassers rarely kept powerplants maker exclusive. Ohio George's Willys had numerous different brands of engine over the decades he dominated the Gas class.

I really like the Gasser called "The Dreamer" with Chevy power up front and a Ford rearend. On his 54? Ford chassis, he "adapted" a fiberglass frontend from a 55Chevy. It fit pretty good too, at least in the pictures.
Funny it confuses so many people when they glance at it, some people see the roof line and the windows and see a ford, some see the 55 Chevy front end and stop looking and conclude "Chevy". It even happened on this forum when a pic was posted, somebody said "nice Ford", the next post was something like, "what Ford that was a Chevy! LOL!
