Is Brendon the correct spelling? Hot wheels toy designer eh? Sounds pretty unique!, A friend of mine made a career for himself drawing up cartoons of cars,, Mark Lueck. He's in the same category as Rat Fink,Ed Roth, Now it seems you are building your own full size version of a Hot Wheels vehicle! How did you get into that position of designing hot wheels?? I was planning on building a 55 Chevy for decades and changed over to my 56 VIC at sorta the last minute (after pondering it for about a year LOL). My next Gasser will be a 55, so I am really liking what you have got going! Tom

Yes, Brendon is the correct spelling, though most people assume is Brandon, Brendan, Brenden, Brenda, etc (and countless other variations) I cannot say I've heard of your friend, but I do have an old friend with nearly the identical name, Mark Luecke. HE had made a career making prototype models for toys. I hadn't worked with him in some years, but I used to be able to hire him as a vendor in the early 2,000's.

I studied industrial design in college. Started with transportation, but my passion for muscle cars and hot rods didn't jive with Detroit. I also had some success w/ toy design and my career path fell into place. I worked at a few places before getting into Mattel, though

As for my '55, this car too is something I've wanted for a long time. While growing up my next door neighbor had one and I'd always see it and admire it. Then I saw movies like American Graffiti, and Two Lane Black top and the direction of making a gasser was set. Now it's just a matter of getting it done and I can finally drive it.

Again, apologies for a very delayed reply
